Presentation of Aris Portosalte's book "Stefanos Manos. Section in Inactivity”: Hatziyanneio

Proti yili publications and the Kaltsas bookstore in Larissa present the book by Aris Portosalte, Stefanos Manos. Inactivity Section on Friday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m
at the Hadjiyanneio Municipal Spiritual Center (Roosevelt 57, Larissa).

Aris Portosalte is interviewed by: Sakis Moumtzis, columnist in Kathimerini newspaper
and Petros Papasarandopoulos, journalist and director of Epikentro publications.
The debate will be moderated by Mr. Giorgos Karavanas, Deputy Governor of Lamia General Hospital.

Excerpts from the book:
"[…] In our country, the acceptance of a new idea, a discovery, is not self-evident, and the initial questioning is strong. Who would have thought, today, that in '90 there was so much fuss about the catalyst in the exhaust, which was adopted by Manos and solved the cloud problem."

“[…] The public sector almost never measures the benefit, whether something is beneficial or not. While the private one measures it, that's why it often does its job more correctly. And I think that, in the end, with the right measurement, society benefits." This passage renders the liberal

philosophy of Manus.

"[…] Axiocrat in the selection of collaborators and public officials in general, and an enemy of populism for the agra vote. An opponent of uncritical statism and a genuine defender of the free economy, he prioritizes at every step the freedom of choice based on the benefit that will result for society as a whole. Manos always refused to submit to the clientelistic mentality of the conservative faction."

"What makes the book important and places it in the category of "historical testimony" is that it goes beyond historical testimonies and the telling of nice political stories, but manages to convey to us the political climate of each era, the dominant ideas and perceptions and ultimately the way which Manos tried to convey to them with his ideas".

Athens Voice newspaper|Aggeliki Birbilis

"Manos never cared to be liked by the party or any other audience, he was not a pleasant politician. He paid for this, he admits it himself with huge doses of self-sarcasm, in this long interesting discussion - almost 400 pages about politics and the people who practiced it in the last 50 years - with the well-known and experienced journalist. Known not only because he has been at the forefront of information for many years, but also because he also has a tendency to say things out of his mouth and pays for it. Related cases".

THETOC.gr

"A portrait of Stefanos Manos through his own words, gives the new book of Aris Portosalte which is the essence of 40 hours of conversation with the former minister who left his mark on post-political Greece".

Daily newspaper|Vassilis Angelikopoulos

"Manos talks about everything in this book, old and new - and also about everyone. There are very few influential political actors of the past and present who do not receive a "reward" from his strict but fair judgement.

Eleftherostypos.gr|Despina Kontaraki

“It's in the form of a book, but in essence it's a long-running conversation that the reader can drop in at any time and read any chapter they choose. The unfolding of the life of Stefanos Manos through Aris Portosalte's questions does not follow a strict chronological order nor does it employ labels that put the liberal politician's thinking into boxes. The latter especially would be impossible, since if something distinguishes Stefanos Manos it is that he thinks "outside the box".
