The Common Sense

Billy Prim Quartet: Municipal Conservatory of Larissa

On Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 20:00 at the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa, the Billy Prim Quartet with Billy Prim's Hungarian musicians, teachers and mentors from the well-known and popular Hungarian University "List Ferenc Academy", will present his second personal album with Title IVORA.

"IVORA" is Billy Prim's second personal album, released by Irida music label.

"IVORA" can be considered the continuation of "Thalassa", in terms of the reasons that led to its creation. Inner search, admiration and respect for the elements of nature, nostalgia and homage to homelands and tradition.

Musically, however, Billy Prim's compositions now open up new paths as the presence of the saxophonist - dynamite Daniel Mester and the vocal improvisations of the amazing Veronica Harcsa (one of the most important singers in Europe) give the album a more improvisational character than the previous one , while certainly the tradition "hides" in a very special way, giving a global jazz tone to the album.

With the first listen, of course, we are won over by the tracks "Yefyri" and "The Breath of all things" where in their outburst, the adrenaline really hits red.

Created during the period of incarceration and accompanied by a small but extremely tasteful comic book he co-created with Stelios Pliatsikas and Thanos Kyratzis, Vassilis sees the sky in the eyes of "Ivora".

And in combination with the album “Thalassa” (his first record), it is now the second part of a trilogy that will be completed with the part that will concern the earth.

A spiritual journey of completion of a new child and musician, from whom the first samples of writing, make us expect many beautiful things.

"We all have a superpower and an unbreakable point that lives within us and that's something I feel compelled to explore as an artist and as a human being," says mr. Prim.

The eight tracks of the album are the reflection and exploration of the inner world as a whole.
